About

We build tools for the everyday African merchant.

SDCS Ledger was built to solve a simple, persistent problem: most small businesses sell every day but have no reliable way to track what they've sold.

Why we built this

Across markets, shops, and street-side businesses in Nigeria and across Africa, the pattern is the same. Sales happen fast. Paper records get lost. Memory fails. At the end of the day, owners are left guessing revenue and dealing with discrepancies they can't trace.

Accounting software exists, but most of it is complex, expensive, and assumes the user has a computer and the patience to learn a new system. That describes very few of the merchants who need it most.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, is already on every phone. Staff already know how to use it. The only missing piece was a system that could listen, understand, and organise what they send.

That is what SDCS Ledger does. We turn ordinary WhatsApp messages into structured, searchable business records — automatically, in real time, without requiring staff to change how they work.

Simplicity first

If a tool is difficult to use, people won't use it. Every decision starts with making the experience simpler.

Reliability over features

We would rather do fewer things correctly than build a bloated system that breaks under pressure.

Built for real conditions

We design for how merchants actually operate — on the move, in fast-paced environments, without formal training.
